The Magra is a major river that flows in Tuscany and Liguria touching with its water the provinces of Massa-Carrara and of La Spezia. It is classified as a main river in Liguria for average at the mouth even if it belongs only to the end of its course. Its origin is Tuscany at 1,200 m above sea level, between Mount Borgognone and Mount Wood, giving life with his course at Val di Magra. He arrived in the area with the Ligurian confluisce Vara taking later in the Ligurian Sea with a broad estuary located between Bocca di Magra and Fiumaretta within the municipality of Ameglia.Il in the course of his river is about 70 km.
